Hey everyone!
My name is Philip Bonanno and I am a sophomore at the University of Connecticut. I am a Psychology Major interested in the connection between music, and the interconnectedness of the body-mind-spirit. I am enrolled in this course because I am also interested in the history of magical use throughout our times and how beliefs and different styles of magic were applied. In addition, homeopathy and other alternative medicinal methods of today interest me, and I believe a study of ancient versions of these methods and how they manifested in their time periods can help to allow me to understand their place in current times.
I am a musician as well; my instruments of choice are the bass guitar, and a new instrument called the Kaossilator: which is a dynamic phrase synthesizer with 150 effects and rhythm combinations that allows one to create music solely on a small and accessible touch-screen that literally puts an eclectic variety of sounds/moods at one's fingertips.
An interesting part about myself is that I practice Reiki -- a Japanese spiritual practice which involves healing without energy depletion. My mother has been practicing for many years and has introduced me and my siblings to it, who also practice as well. I believe that this may be a reason for my interest in these 'magical' matters.
